Let's take 2 minutes and connect!

  • Do you worry as a parent? Do I even need to ask that question?
  • Are you doing enough?
  • Are you doing too much?
  • Are you present enough for the joy?
  • Do you want the world to see your child for who they are and not their "label?"
  • Do you want your community to see the magic in your child?

Can't wait to go on this journey with you!
Thanks for joining.

Welcome to For Out Special Kids

I'm Jennifer Lansink and I'm honored that you are taking moments out of your busy day to join me. As a parent of a child with special needs, I worry. I worry that I'm not doing enough for my daughter, that she's not getting all of the treatments and therapies and surgeries that she might benefit most from.  Then I worry that I'm doing too much and I'm not just letting her be her amazing self and that I'm not just enjoying her just the way she is.  Or that she feels that I don't think she's good enough just the way she is. I worry about missing moments of joy because I'm planning another week of therapy or I'm doing the dishes or I'm getting caught up on laundry. I worry that she won’t talk. I worry that she won't walk. I worry that she'll be treated differently and not given opportunities like other kids.  And the list goes on, and on, and on.

But in the end, I worry most that the world won't recognize the magic within my beautiful child, her pure joy. That unconditional love and light that she so freely gives to anyone that walks into her space. I would imagine that most of you, if not all of you have the same worries.  And you wonder how do I get the world to see that my child isn't typical but that she is outstanding and extra special and mind-blowing. As her mother, I am beyond blessed.

That's why I want you to join me each week. I hope this podcast creates a community of people who dance in the joy of their children with special needs. I hope this podcast creates a moment in time for you to feel that you are not alone in this journey. that we are all in this together. And bit by bit we can change the world and change how they see our children.

Please join me to openly and honestly talk about the magic and the mess of raising a child with special needs.
